Privacy Policy

Effective August 23, 2026

SimplePath Learning keeps privacy the way we keep everything else: simple. This page explains exactly what information we collect at simplepathhomeschool.com, why we collect it, and the controls you have as a parent. No legal maze — just the facts.

What we collect

From parents. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored only as a secure hash — we never see or store the password itself). If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor; we never receive or store your card number, only a reference ID that links your subscription to your account.

About your children. By design, a child's profile stores only a first name, an optional birth year (used to suggest a grade level), an optional 4-digit profile PIN, and a chosen avatar icon. We do not collect children's email addresses, photos, locations, or contact information — there is nothing else to collect, because we never ask.

Learning records. As your child works through the curriculum we record lesson completions, quiz answers and scores, estimated daily attendance minutes, and conversations with the AI teacher. These records exist to build the progress reports, transcripts, and attendance logs your homeschool needs — they belong to your family.

How we use it

We use this information to run your account, deliver the curriculum, track progress, generate your homeschool records, process your subscription, and respond when you contact us. That's the whole list. We do not sell personal information, we do not rent it, and we do not use it for advertising.

The AI teacher

When your child asks the AI teacher a question, the conversation is sent to Anthropic's API solely to generate a response. Every conversation is visible to you in your parent dashboard — nothing your child says to the AI teacher is hidden from you. Daily message limits apply to each student profile.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

SimplePath Learning is built for families, and only a parent or legal guardian can create an account. Your consent to your child's use of the platform is collected and recorded at signup, as required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). At any time you can review your child's information and AI conversations from your dashboard, or ask us to delete a child's profile and all associated records.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. There are no third-party advertising trackers anywhere on the site, and especially none on pages your child uses.

Who we share with

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the platform: Stripe (payments and billing), Anthropic (generating AI teacher responses), and our secure cloud hosting infrastructure where the application and database run. Each processes data only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it.

Security and retention

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), passwords are stored as salted hashes, and access to production data is restricted. We keep your family's records for as long as your account is active — homeschool families often need multi-year transcripts — and delete them when you ask us to close your account.

Your choices

You can update your information, review every learning record and AI conversation, and cancel your subscription from your dashboard. To delete your account or any child's profile and data, email us at support@simplepathhomeschool.com and we'll take care of it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and let account holders know by email before the change takes effect.
